I listened to a room full of High School students today, in a debrief, after their shared experience in a 6th grade classroom. The topic of that shared experience was "Spark" - defined by Peter Benson as "something that gives your life meaning and purpose. It's an interest, a passion, or a gift." Here is what I heard.

Values are a theme in both the work of Bounce, and even more so in my personal work. There exists an immense amount of power, clarity, and action when a person is aligned with their values. I recently experienced an interesting phenomenon when an activity I absolutely love, athletics, started engaging with different sets of values...so I reflected on this journey...

Curiosity defeats Skepticism and I Win

It took less than three minutes for skepticism to take over and decide that i.e. rva was a joke. I scanned the website and quickly compiled a list of reasons why this was anything but a collaborative community, including a mysterious vibe about the organization’s purpose, a lack of information about the event, and a $125 ticket price.

No way I was going.
