We built on last month's exploration of trust by traveling deeper  into the  relationship dynamic of sharing and listening. We differentiated hearing (with one's ears) and listening (with one's whole body, especially the heart).  We also explored the four fundamental  "e-motions "(Energy in motion)--happiness, sadness, anger, and fear. We identified where and how we experience these emotions in our bodies.   In pairs, the girls practiced active listening with an activity called mirror (illustrated above) .  They also connected deeply through sharing stories of how these four core emotions have shown up in their lives.   All four groups illustrated a remarkable individual and collective capacity for compassion.
