Coaching for Leaders

What would every workplace be like if leaders listened? What if, instead of telling people what to do, leaders asked questions? We had the chance to experiment with the "what if's" in a session designed to teach coaching skills to leaders last week. Partnering with the Center for Corporate Education at VCU, I worked with ten amazing leaders to practice deep listening skills and learning to ask open-ended questions that would evoke others' wisdom instead of imposing their own. The group developed some amazing questions, and their "speed coaching" experience created awesome insights and commitments. Can't wait until next time to hear their impact on those around them at work!
