SOHO (Space of Her Own) is providing a unique opportunity to bring together 10 girls from the Gilpin Court community and 10 women from the Richmond community to expand the way they see and engage in relationships by experiencing learning as a hands-on creative process -- transforming spaces inside and out!

These 10 girls and 10 women will gather for 22 weeks to explore their creative spirits through personal development, meaningful relationships, engaging art projects, and sharing healthy meals. Together, they will:

  • Transform a bedroom in Gilpin Court into a positive, clean, well-lit space with a special place to study, using all the projects they made
  • Learn and practice life and leadership skills
  • Develop their own potential and positively impact the lives of each other and all others

Given this unique SOHO challenge and Richmond opportunity, the Visual Arts center has integrated Bounce’s leadership development services to prepare these women with the necessary skills, tools, and mindsets to develop stronger, more confident girls.  As a result these girls will get mentors that can see their strengths and ignite their potential and these women will return to their jobs and their lives with greater mastery, purpose, and realized potential.

Small Kelly Lewis Hello! Here are a few things that I have found support me in creating the life I want, keeping myself in check, and leading with courage and compassion: a slow walk with my hubby and our pups, my work, honesty with myself, the smile of another, and mother nature.
