You're Amazing... Just the Way You Are

Tonight we culminated our circle of SOHO girls at a celebration hosted by the Visual Arts Center.  The girls showed their appreciation for their SOHO experience, flash mob style—shining their individual and collective lights to Bruno Mar’s “Just the Way You Are.”

Through choreographing and delivering this dance, the girls illustrated their understanding of trust, respect (self, sister, space), listening, cooperation, and gratitude. They were able to transcend their differences and connect to create a gesture of appreciation for their mentors and teachers.

And the learning, of course, was reciprocal—Dawn and I now have another key that opens the door to authentic connection- Dance!  Stay tuned—a bounce flash mob may be coming your way!

Thanks to a village of amazing SOHO artists, facilitators, and mentors for including us in the SOHO tribe this year.  Sally Kemp, Tesni Stephen, Kathleen Crabill,  Kamala Benjamin,10 amazing mentors, and 10 amazing young women--- YOU ARE AMAZING JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!
